This is the first entry of what I hope will me many on my musings on the current state of affairs of the humanities space efforts. My primary focus will be the US program but on occasion I’ll be parting the curtain and looking at the efforts of other nations and yes seeing how we in the US stack up against them.
Before put any rants and ravings down on paper, I have to say a huge thank you to a few people for lighting a fire to get me to “light this candle”. One is a dear friend whom I’ve known for close to (gulp!) 27 years. She started her effort; Cogito Ergo Sum, http://cogitoergosum-magnolia.blogspot.com/ some time ago.
I encourage you to take a look.
The other is a new friend is someone who I have never met in person but sort of feel like we have! She works at NASA’s Mission Control Center outside Houston, TX and tweets under the name Absolutspacegirl and has her own blog: “Aimless Musings from a Frustrated Rocket Scientist.”

We both have a tendency to wear our hearts on our sleeves when it comes to space issues and she is as passionate about space issues and policy as I am.
Her blog is also a must read.
A huge thank you to you both for the encouragement to get this blog off the ground. I am honored to call both of you friends.
